Description
Starting from outside the National Trust cafe where there are toilets
Starting northwards past Moneybury Hill.
Woodland and farmland to Wards Hill Farm.
Down steps along The Coombe and up to Ivinghoe Beacon, admiring the panoramic view.
South along the Ridgeway Path to Pitstone Hill, admiring long views and the chalk pit quarry.
South through Aldbury Nowers nature reserve, noted for its butterflies in Summer.
Back to the car park via Aldbury.
We stop for optional purchase of refreshments at the end of the walk.
Prepare
Dress appropriately for the weather, there could be mud so if it has been wet good boots are essential, not trainers. Walking poles recommended for those who use them.
Dress according to the weather, layers recommended and small rucksack for carrying.
Dogs
Well behaved dogs are welcome and will need to be on a lead in some locations.
We will pass through fields which have potential for sheep, cows or horses.

Guide: 1-2=easy; 3-4=leisurely; 5-6=moderate; 7-8=brisk/hilly moderate; 9-10=strenuous.
(1=leisurely, wheelchair friendly, 10=such steep or slippery inclines it is only just possible to get traction and the walk will be very strenuous. Most walks will be in the 5-8 range.)
