Mostly footpaths. A very rural route which includes some less travelled paths through farmland and woodland, to Barn Wood, almost reaching Boswells on the Ridgeway Path on the edge of Wendover and back via Kings Ash and the two churches in The Lee. Few stiles. Some hills but nothing major.
This is a great opportunity to get away from the well travelled paths and into the heart of nature where lesser spotted wildlife tends to be found.
We stop for refreshment at the cafe in the Cock and Rabbit at The Lee at about noon where drinks and cakes are available to purchase.
1 mile walk after our cafe-stop back to the cricket field car park.
Prepare
Dress appropriately for the weather, there could be mud so if it has been wet good boots are essential, not trainers. Walking poles recommended for those who use them.
Dress according to the weather, layers recommended and small rucksack for carrying.
Dogs
Well behaved dogs are welcome and will need to be on a lead in some locations especially as some areas have sensitive habitats for wildlife.
We will pass through fields which have potential for sheep, cows or horses.
(1=leisurely, wheelchair friendly, 10=such steep or slippery inclines it is only just possible to get traction and the walk will be very strenuous. Most walks will be in the 5-8 grades.)
Always check calendar and refresh just before travelling to a walk in case of cancellation.
Walks start promptly so be sure to arrive in time to get your boots on.
All walks are joined at the risk of the participants and participants are responsible for their own actions and those of their dogs.
Please behave kindly and responsibly, being especially careful along roads and while crossing roads.
