Description
Footpaths, canal paths and a small amount of road and roadside pavement walking. Some woodland during the first hour.
From the car park anti-clockwise around part of Wilstone Reservoir before turning away to Drayton Beauchamp and through the churchyard of the very pretty church. Steep steps down to the canal which we follow, past Buckland Wharf to WellonheadBridge. Climb up to Chiltern Forest Golf Club where, being about half-way, we will stop for just five minutes with the opportunity to use the drinks machine or purchase a quick half-pint of Side Pocket, etc. and use the toilet before continuing up to Aston Hill. Past well hidden Drayton Manor, touch the new West edge of Tring. Another, particularly lovely part of the canal back to Wilstone Reservoir. Stop just before the end at about 12.20pm at Meads Farmhouse Kitchen for a second opportunity of refreshment.
Prepare
Dress appropriately for the weather, there could be mud so if it has been wet good boots are recommended especially as there are some hills early on in the walk. Now that the temperatures are increasing please bring water to drink.
Dogs
Well behaved dogs are welcome and will need to be on a lead in some locations. Please bring water for your dog to drink now that temperatures are rising.
