Description
Most of this walk is level but we ascend and descend Cuckoo Pen quite steeply in Aston Rowant Nature Reserve.
We are in Oxfordshire for a change and have some good paths, pretty villages and lovely long views of the Chiltern Hills. The Nature Reserve is a site of special scientific interest.
We stop for purchase of optional refreshment at the excellent Cherry Tree Cafe and Hotel about 10.45am.
Prepare
Dress appropriately for the weather, there could be mud so if it has been wet good boots are recommended, not trainers. Walking poles recommended for Cuckoo Pen for those who use them.
Dress according to the weather, layers recommended and small rucksack for carrying.
Dogs
Well behaved dogs are welcome and will need to be on a lead in some locations.
We pass through fields which have potential for sheep, cows or horses.
Booking
Booking not required for this walk.
