Description
Mostly footpaths. Some steep declines and inclines.
We stop for purchase of optional refreshment at Buckmoorend Farm Shop and outdoor kitchen 3/4 of the way along. They have a portaloo.
From the car park, steeply down or less steeply zig-zag down to Ellesborough golf course. Across arable field to Ellesborough Church. Either straight over or around Beacon Hill. Past Ellesborough and Great Kimble Warrens to Pulpit Hill. Down and around Pulpit Hill to Grangelands and Riflerange Nature Reserve. Cross the road at the Plough at Lower Cadsden and take the path which becomes a holloway, past Ninn Wood and on to what on the map is called Dirtywood Farm. Turn left to Buckmoorend, stopping for refreshment at the farm shop. Ridgeway path then continue straight through Goodmer Wood, left to Fugsden Wood and to High Scrubs, Left to Low Scrubs and left again back to the carpark.
Prepare
Dress appropriately for the weather, there could be mud so if it has been wet good boots are essential, not trainers. Walking poles recommended for those who use them. Some steep hills.
Dress according to the weather, layers recommended and small rucksack for carrying.
Dogs
Well behaved dogs are welcome and will need to be on a lead in some locations.
