Description
Starting from the dog-friendly Tennis Clubhouse in Halton Village where we will later visit the clubhouse cafe at the end of the walk after changing out of muddy boots.
Starting on level ground past some of Halton RAF Camp and the 1956 Hawker Hunter F.6 jet displayed outside the main entrance. Gradual ascent through shady woodland to the model owl on Boddington Hill, along woodland edge with long rolling views over farm fields and past some substantial rural properties at The Hale. Up a quiet, less used woodland path and joining the Ridgeway path through Barn Wood and past Boswells estate. Through the churchyard in Wendover, past Hampden Pond and and along the Heron Stream. Follow the Wendover Arm canal from its start in Wharf Road to Halton Village with a strong possibility of viewing a kingfisher along the towpath. Refreshments for purchase afterwards at the Clubhouse Cafe where there is spacious indoor and outdoor seating.
