Description
Starting from the dog-friendly Tennis Clubhouse in Halton Village where we will later visit the clubhouse cafe at the end of the walk after changing out of boots if muddy.
Starting on level ground past some of Halton RAF Camp and the 1956 Hawker Hunter F.6 jet displayed outside the main entrance. Through woodland and along some of the bottom perimeter of Boddington Hill and head for Wendover High Street. Past the civil engineering work of HS2 with good views from the footbridge of the tunnels which will become covered over. We take one route up Bacoombe Hill to Coombe Hill Monument and another route back down, and repeat the part along the HS2 work in reverse direction. Back in Wendover we return to Halton along the Grand Union Walk Wendover Arm canal towpath. Refreshments for purchase afterwards at the Clubhouse Cafe where there is spacious indoor and outdoor seating.
