Description
Footpaths, bridleways, a little open field and pavements in Cholesbury and Chesham. Lovely views over valleys.
This is a lovely undulating walk, so quite hilly, but does not include very steep inclines which we would call strenuous. There will be some short stretches of slippery slopes where we take extra care. Elsewhere will be brisk-paced. A few stiles. We will see some of Chesham town centre and Scotowes Pond at the foot of Lowndes Park so you may like to bring some duck and goose pellets. We pass public toilets in Chesham.
We stop for refreshment at the end in the Padel Cafe of the Black Horse. (We expect to finish walking at about 12.30pm so allowance has been made). Participation will be mandatory due to our use of the premises car park. This is a great location with excellent facilities which seem perfect for walkers.
Prepare
Dress appropriately for the weather, there could be mud so if it has been wet, boots with good grip are essential, not trainers. Walking poles recommended for those who use them.
Dress according to the weather, layers recommended and small rucksack for carrying.
Dogs
Well behaved dogs are welcome and will need to be on a lead in some locations.
We will pass through fields which have potential for sheep, cows or horses.
