Description
Mainly level or moderate gradients. There will be some stiles, bridges and level crossings.
This walk has been designed to coincide with the Chinnor & Princes Risborough Steam Gala.
We aim to see the BR Standard Class 9F - 92134 at Keens Crossing 10 minutes after the start of the walk and maybe again a little later, from a further distance after it returns from Princes Risborough.
We may also, if we’re lucky, get sightings of USA Class 160 (6046) and/or GWR 2900 Saint Class 2999 - Lady of Legend but it is difficult to judge exactly where we will intersect. It is certainly a busy steaming weekend and a great opportunity for us to enjoy some extra interest on our Saturday walk. We’ll certainly hear them nearby even if we miss some of the possible sightings. It’s good walking country too, as we pass through quaint villages and varied footpaths.
We stop for refreshment at 12pm at the Lions of Bledlow where hot and cold drinks are available as well as some good light lunches. It’s about half an hour’s walk from there back to the start.
